Angel Ava Marie Pit Bull Terrier Portland, OR

Our Ava Marie is what we like to call a JACKPOT dog! She is SIMPLY amazing and we cannot wait to find her forever family for her.

Ava wandered up to our friends' farm, skinny, dirty and looking for a safe haven - well she picked the right farm and our friend promptly got her inside, cleaned up and into the safety of a foster home.

Ava has been a dream guest at her foster home. Smart, sweet, house and kennel trained quickly. She is awesome with other dogs - and currently lives with an old grumpy Chi up through an 80 lb American Bulldog. She is a low key girl who loves a nice walk, some quick zooms in the morning, a nice sunbath, followed by some snuggles.

Ava loves toys and treats and bottom scratches - all things very good girls deserve in abundance! We don't know Ava's past, but we do know that she is a great dog who is going to make some family a very good companion.

Ava Marie is ~2 years old and about 50 lbs. She's not a tall girl, but she is solid! She is not crazy active, but will need proper exercise and ongoing socialization so she can get her energy out. She is great as part of a pack but would also be fine as a solo dog. She would do great with kids who have been taught to be respectful of animals. She has not been tested with kitties.

Ava has been fully vetted (spayed, vaccinated, microchipiped). Unfortunately, due to lack of care in her previous life she is low heartworm positive. She is fine and healthy, but will need monthly topical medication that the rescue will provide until cleared (probably about 8-10 months). We are happy to discuss this in detail with her prospective family.
