Date of birth: 11/2013
12/12/2019: Angel is a cute brindle and white American Bulldog mix. She’s 6 years old and she weighs 55 lbs. Angel is very sweet-natured. She’s playful but she also enjoys just hanging with people. She LOVES to play fetch and cool off in the baby pool. She rides nicely in the car and kennels right up.
Angel occasionally has fear issues with some strangers, more so with men, She'll need more socialization to help her with that. Angel wouldn't be a good match for a first-time dog parent-- she needs the guidance of someone who has some dog experience. Angel has greatly improved socially and is doing so much better than when she first arrived. One of our volunteers is a dog trainer and has worked with Angel a lot and taken her on various outings regularly to socialize her more and have some fun-- and it's made a huge difference. Angel knows several commands and learns quickly. She loves to go for long walks and walks nicely on a leash.
Angel will probably need to be an only pet. She is choosy about her doggie friends and she's not good with cats. However, she does fine walking in our pack walks near other dogs without reacting.
Angel has been spayed, vaccinated, microchipped and tested for heartworms. She was originally picked up by KCK Animal Control as a stray and she had parvo virus. We transferred her to our shelter so we could hospitalize her and provide her with the veterinary care she needed. She’s completely recovered and healthy now. She's been with us a long time and we'd love to find this sweet angel a home.

> Our goal is to send you home with a healthy pet and any information and support you may need to help your new pet adjust to his or her new home. All of our dogs & puppies have been spayed or neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, treated for fleas & ticks, tested for heartworms (7 mo. and over), and are on monthly heartworm preventative. Puppies who are too young to receive all the necessary puppy boosters and/or first rabies shot may be brought back to us for those vaccines at no extra charge. You will also receive a leash, collar, coupons for pet supplies and services, toys, and educational materials. And we'll give your dog a bath before he or she goes home!
> Please note that we prefer and may require a fenced yard for many of our dogs. Exceptions are made on an individual basis depending on the dog's needs, the person's dog experience, the dog's and person's activity levels, home environment and other factors.
