Andy's Story

This sweet 8-month-old, 30-pound terrier/lab mix is the definition of resilience and charm.

One of only two surviving puppies from his litter, Andy (affectionately called Minnow Mac by his foster family) was the tiniest of the bunch. Now he’s grown into a healthy, handsome boy, who’s happy, playful, and ready to find a home of his own.

Andy is quite the precious pup. You can count on him to keep you smiling as he’s chasing bubbles (see video), splashing around outside in the doggy pool, playing with his favorite toys, or snuggling up to the older dogs, trying to win their affection.

He’s a balanced boy who enjoys running and romping around and then settling in for a good chew-stick sesh, some belly rubs and a nice nap on the couch near his people.

Andy’s also smart and easy to train! He quickly mastered “sit”, happily goes “in crate” for meals, and is catching on fast to “wait/stay” and “gentle.” With positive reinforcement (and a few treats!), this boy will continue to flourish. He’s food-motivated, eager to please, and responds beautifully to a gentle, encouraging approach. He’s doing great with potty training and sleeps soundly through the night.

Andy would thrive with a fenced backyard for playtime and splashing, a family with someone who is home more than not and is ready to laugh at his silly side while enjoying his sweet, loyal companionship. This precious boy truly wants to be your partner in life.

If you’re looking for a fun-loving, spirited, well balanced companion with a big heart, Andy’s your guy! He is available for adoption in both Texas and the Northeast.

We try to give as much info about the dog as we can on the posting and our website. To get more specific questions answered you would need to be put in touch with the foster. To do that you need to complete an application that is found on our webpage. Please note, an application does not mean you are getting the dog. Often times we get multiple apps on the same dog. We go in order of the arrival of the app but we also look at apps carefully and make sure that the dog and applicant are a good match for each other.
