Meet Anaya
Her name is Anaya
Her scars and mouth tell a story of a harsh past. A life none of us would like to imagine for any dog. A life of pain and suffering. One she has survived physically. Her sad eyes and smile mixed in one, in the kennel, melted our hearts.
This is the catch pole dog that was posted in the stray album.
A call came to animal control stating an aggressive dog was at large. That dog was Anaya. She has extensive injuries to her neck. Open wound. Old scars throughout her body. Hungry. And on her own.
We met Anaya on Sunday and fell in love. She melted into our arms and lap, finding love and comfort in the gentle pets she received.
Aging Anaya is a challenge. She has no teeth ?
A few in the very back is all we could see. The front: nothing.
She deserves so much more than the past she was dealt and the present she lives in.
We have not dog tested her yet for no reason other than wanting to allow her neck to heal first before putting anything leashes or collars on her.
So instead, we let her soak up all the attention we could give her??
