Anakin: 4 yo, 35lb neutered male lab/bully mix

Personality: Anakin is a happy and loyal boy who loves his person. He is an active and curious guy who will gladly accompany you on any adventure, but is calm indoors and loves to nap. He is an aggressive cuddler and loves to give hugs and be up on your chest. He also loves belly rubs. Anakin is an absolute joy to be around. Anakin LOVES squeaky toys and blankets. He will quickly cuddle up on a couch or a bed and nuzzle and knead his blankie.

Anakin is extremely easy to please and would do well in a home with other dogs. No cats. He is food motivated and easily takes to learning new commands and behaviors. He already knows sit, down, and stay! He will need a confident and firm handler who will continue his training. Anakin was trained for his leash reactivity but his new owner will need to continue his training.

Home Recommendation: Anakin is currently fostered on Long Island. He does well in his foster home with other dogs and kids. He would do best in a home with a yard, or with someone who can continue to work on his leash reactivity. Anakin has some herding instincts and will guard his person/toy at times but is easily managed and redirected.

Anakin lunges at people/dogs not because he is aggressive, but because he wants to greet them! He is overly friendly, and loves EVERYONE. Due to his excitement, he jumps on people and accidentally tries to tackle them when trying to meet them. We recommend no small children or grandparents at this time while he is learning to keep his paws on the ground. He does excellent meeting people when they are sitting or kneeling already, and when strangers are calm.

His Foster Says: Anakin is a gorgeous, sweet boy. He's fit in incredibly well to apartment living in the city, he's quiet and fully trained indoors. He absolutely loves all of my friends and gives them massive hugs and kisses every single time (almost as if he's never had a friend before!) Although he's chaotic outside, he is a lover, not a fighter. He just needs basic leash training outdoors! He would absolutely adore a family who'd spoil him and give him hugs everyday. He'll do anything for affection and treats! This Anakin is definitely staying on the light side.

Energy Level: Moderate; has bursts of energy, but can be a couch potato. Anakin would enjoy playing fetch in a yard or going out for longer walks. He settles easily indoors and can also nap all day.

Good w/ Dogs: Yes, he loves to play! He has been good with all dogs so far, but must meet them in a calm and slow manner. He is neutral indoors, respectful of personal space, and likes to nap alongside his foster buds.

Crate Trained: Yes! He sleeps quietly through the night and can nap for hours.
