Meet Amazing Hazel
Hazel is a cute little Terrier (100% street mutt most likely) mix who is paws on the ground in Seattle and ready to meet her forever family! Her adoption donation is $500.
Hazel is ~18 months old, around 20 pounds (fully grown) and just the cutest little thing you will ever meet. She is shockingly agile for her size and loves to run and play – followed by a good snuggle of course! She is an ideal size for any living situation, including a condo or apartment setting.
Hazel currently lives with other dogs both small and large and loves to play with her best friend Annie the bulldog. She would be fine as part of a pack or as a solo gal – but she would love some dog park time to socialize with friends. She can be a bit intimidated of very large dogs. She would be fine living with kids who know how to be respectful of animals. She has not been tested with cats, but we haven’t seen anything in her demeanor that would make us think she could not live with kitties.
She has done really well with her potty training, but her adoptive family will need to understand a change in environment may lead to an accident or two while she is figuring it all out. She is kennel trained and is working hard on her leash manners.
The best suited family will be one that understands that dogs can take time to acclimate to their new homes - which could include having accidents, crying in their kennel, and chewing on things they are not supposed to – and approach this with patience and positive reinforcement.
We expect our dogs to be adopted by families who plan to keep them as indoor pets and part of the family. We do not adopt to families who plan to keep dogs outside for an extended period of time, for example the entire workday.
