Allison is a great little upbeat female Miniature Pinscher mix (maybe she is mixed with Chihuahua?) that is ADORABLE and has beautiful markings in that her coat is tri-colored. She was rescued from the San Bernardino City Shelter and weighs between 8-9 lbs. She was marked as age two, but my experienced tells me that she closer to age one or one-and-a half (her teeth are pearly white).

Allison is a confident, happy little girl that loves all people and is also fine with all other dogs. She is also very quiet. Her absolute FAVORITE THING is to sit out on the porch in the sun either on a pet bed, the bistro chair, or actually up on the bistro table (she can jump up!) She can also engage is some solid, good play with the other dogs in the pack! Occasionally, I have seen her playing with toys on her own. Allison has the personality and overall demeanor of being a great family dog; she readily approaches all people including kids. She is very versatile; sometimes, she is insisting on sitting on my lap (a lap dog), other times, she is on a pet bed chilling in the office while I work at the computer (either by herself, or sharing the pet bed with another dog); other times, she is independently sunning herself outside on the porch (the door to the house always stays open so that she can come back in anytime she wants).

Allison is crate-trained and here at the rescue, dogs eat, sleep, and go in their crates when folks are gone from home. She has been very good in her crate. Allison also loves feeding time! She loves food and I even feed her in a slow bowl so that she does not wolf down her food down so fast! She had a couple of potty accidents when she was first rescued, but has since gotten the potty thing down here at my house with regular intervals of walking the pack out. At bed time, she loves her little rawhide sticks as a bedtime snack.

Allison is very sweet, loving and affectionate. Sometimes, she gets into these moods where she is just trying to over-abundantly give me kisses. In these times, I have to tell her to stop and she eventually settles down. Other times, I am lying on my bed resting during the day and she is a bit squirmy and in my face lavishing me with kisses, but again, she can eventually settle and chill and be calm on the affection front. Allison is a very easy dog; she is easy to manage and does not have any concerning issues.

The best fit for Allison’s placement seems to be a home with either another dog to be her friend and companion; or, as an only dog in the home where she will not have to be left alone for long stretches (same as with most dogs). Cyrus is a good match to be adopted together with Allison, because they know each other, like each other, and play well together, but it is not my expectation, nor is it my requirement, that they be adopted together. I think that Allison is a very versatile dog, but it would be nice if she at least had a small yard or patio to sun herself since it is her life’s joy. Allison also wears a sweatshirt in the winter as she tends to get cold. Allison is just one of those super cute, tiny, and easy to manage, little canine companions!

NOTE: We only adopt dogs as primarily INDOOR dogs. Dogs can go outside to play, potty, to sun themselves at will, but should never be excluded to an outside area. You do not need to give a dog the run of the entire house, and an appropriate sized wire crate works very well during a transitional phase.

Allison is spayed, fully vaccinated, Front-lined, dewormed, and micro-chipped. If you are interested in Allison, email Angel’s Heart Dog Rescue at: adopt@angelsheartdogrescue.com.
