Alice Dachshund Mix Gig Harbor, WA

This is Alice. A small doxie mix with a big personality. Her tail wags all day long except when she is sleeping. She has been crate trained at night and when the lights go off she is quiet until the sun comes up. She has a playful energy in the morning and is a very good eater. In fact such a good eater that she has a maze bowl to slow her down. She loves her walks and is very good on the leash even walks well with her foster brothers. If she sees a small animal to chase though, make sure you have a tight grip on that leash as she will pull hard and want to chase it. She loves to play tug of war with humans and other dogs. She will fetch toys and bring them back. She will nap in the afternoon in her bed or a lap. If you are on the couch in the evening she will want to be right there with you. She loves being loved and will flop over for a tummy rub. She was confused at first where to go potty but has caught on fast to only go outside. She will bark when people come to the door but settles down quickly. Alice is pure joy and brings a smile to everyone's face. She has a distinct "Z" marking on her back which I think stands for zoom because she is quick.

If you have previously submitted an application form, there is no need to re-apply. Just let us know you're interested in this dog. We do our best to match families and dogs so everyone is pleased and the placement is permanent. We reserve the right to refuse an applicant if the home situation is incompatible with the needs of the rescue dog. Rescue is about doing our best for the dog. We do home and reference checks. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and are up to date with current vaccinations, before being placed in their forever homes.

FOSTER HOMES NEEDED! We are always looking for good foster homes. Our rescue is foster based and we can always save more dogs if we have foster homes for them to go into. It is not a long term commitment. We have been able to find good forever homes in a short time. We also welcome volunteers who can help transport dogs and help with our outreach and fund raising efforts. Please contact us if you can help.
