Meet Ali Larter

NAME: ALI LARTERAGE/GENDER: Baby (DOB 5/25/17), FemaleBREED: Husky MixTEMPERAMENT: Playful and mischievousWEIGHT: 30 lbs and growingHOUSE TRAINING: Not yet! She is a baby so she'll need a consistent schedule with multiple opportunities daily to go outside while she works on it. Puppies should not be considered reliable in regard to housetraining until 6-12 months of age. They're a lot like toddlers, who require diapers!CRATE TRAINING: Good, she's young and trainable!OTHER DOGS: Good! She will need continued socialization, like all puppies!CATS: Good! Continued socialization will be important!CHILDREN: Dog-respectful children, 8 and olderADOPTION DONATION: $500HEALTH: Ali Larter is BLIND! She had bilateral enucleation, meaning both eyes were removed. In addition she does have a heart murmur and cardiac echo did reveal an irregular rhythm and tricuspid valve dysplasia. She will need another cardiac evaluation with echocardiogram when she is a year old to monitor progression of cardiac disease. Prior to adoption, puppies will be altered, microchipped, flea treated, and dewormed. Puppies are given vaccination boosters in our care; however, adoptive families will be responsible for the remaining vaccinations that puppies need. Your adoption donation goes toward the cost of this vet care as well as transportation and general care costs. In addition, all pets adopted from Motley Zoo come with 30 days of free pet insurance provided by Shelter Care.HISTORY: Motley Zoo Animal Rescue was asked to find her a great forever family and that is exactly what we plan to do!NOTES FROM FOSTER HOME: Ali Larter is a puppy so she's playful and has a lot of puppy energy! She is super cute and fun, but a lot of work. Her forever family should be committed to lots of training - obedience, housetraining, and socialization. This will ensure that Ali grows into a confident, well behaved adult! Puppies' personalities are dependent on their environment, and the structure and training they are given, in addition to socialization. Their personalities continue to grow and be shaped by their new adoptive families. Puppy daycare and socialization classes or puppy kindergarten are highly recommended for their personal development. She will more than reward you for all your hard work with lots of love, loyalty, and laughs. In addition, Ali Larter is BLIND, and as such would need another dog in the home as it helps make her feel much more secure and confident. She learns things quickly, like stairs etc. We would highly recommend she be adopted with her best buddy Jane Chatwin.Ali is a very sweet girl and gorgeous to boot. She will definitely require more socialization with people and places, as she is blind and will need to learn to navigate the world. She is an adventurous little pup and loves hiking and walking with the other dog members of her foster family. And playing almost constantly all day long with her BFF Jane Chatwin. While she loves to run and will try to hike and run as much as she can, once she is tired out, she is good for quick nap. She will power nap shortly before she is up and ready to continue to play. She loves other dogs, especially her size, so that she can run and play with them outside. She loves to be outdoors and is a high energy pup, so she needs an active family and a very tolerant dog companion as she does not always know when to stop (however, she is learning). She's a super sweet playful girl looking for the right family. All dogs adopted from Motley Zoo come with a leash and either a Martingale collar or a harness, depending on each dog's particular needs.Welcome to Motley Zoo Animal Rescue. We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit animal rescue organization that is run entirely by volunteers. Motley Zoo does not have a brick and mortar shelter location. Instead, all our rescue animals are cared for in private foster homes where the animals receive one-on-one care and attention in a home environment until permanent placement is found. Please email adopt@motleyzoo.org and request an adoption application and we will work toward approving you as an adopter with our rescue so that we can set a time for you to meet! For more information, please visit www.motleyzoo.org.Thank you for considering adopting a dog in need!Woof,The Motley Zoo Crew 4/23/18 3:11 AM
