This poor senior was dumped at a high kill shelter because he was 10 yrs old.. he was terribly neglected and matted to the skin, he had to be totally shaved down, and his coat is really growing out nicely, he's a very pretty terrier/lhasa apso mix we think .he was covered in fleas and dirt, he is 33 lbs and could easily lose a couple of them, he needs a really special home that loves the senior dogs, one that can give him lots of love, he is a very easy going dog, very quiet and laid back, he loves his dog bed, every so often he will get excited and run outside with the other dogs when a squirrel enters the back yard and then runs back to his bed to nap, he is on some daily eye meds for his nuclear sclerosis , he can see really well its just typical aging per the eye vet that we took him to for a check up, he is also on thyroid meds twice a day which we hide in his food and are very inexpensive, he is not overly fond of pills !! he loves to follow his foster mom around especially when its feeding time and sits patiently for his food, he tolerates the other dogs but does not like them trying to get too close when he is eating and will growl at them, he seems to be pretty well house trained and does well on a leash and riding in the car, he is going to be a great companion for someone

OUR RESCUE POLICY - It is our rescue policy for all our dogs that we require a home with no children under the age of 8, and experienced dog owners only.

WE REQUIRE VET RECORDS ON YOUR CURRENT OR PAST DOG FOR OUR REVIEW. RECORDS MUST SHOW THE POTENTIAL ADOPTER AS THE OWNER

The total adoption fee of $450 and includes the required interstate health certificate and transport , spay/neuter, shots including rabies, bordatella, parvo, distemper and canine influenza, and microchip. The total amount is payable to Shaggy Dog Rescue which is a 501c3. We also provide a free wellness visit to the South Wilton Vet group if convenient for you.
