Meet Akela!

Akela is a 1 year old husky mix who was originally rescued in rural Mississippi where she was abandoned. Her current situation is not working out as there are too many visitors in the home and she needs to be crated more than she is happy with. Akela is so sweet with everyone but is wary of men. She does warm up to men with time, but we think her home should be with a woman adopter. In addition, her home should be with someone that spends more time at home, potentially retired or working from home. She is excellent with other dogs and would do best in a home with a confident dog buddy. We really believe that together with an experienced owner and confident dog buddy Akela can become the best dog she can be!

She is a smart dog, she already knows sit, down, paw, and come. She loves to go hiking and exploring. She has lots of good energy to be used and could even make a good agility partner. Akela has done amazing with her foster doggie sibling and has been excellent with children as well, very calm and gentle. She is 47 pounds and healthy, up to date on shots and spayed. Her coloring is cream with some dark spots. She is one of a kind! Akela is currently in New England, ready for adoption. The adoption donation is $400 .

*Unless stated otherwise, all dogs will be spayed or neutered, on flea/tick product and heart worm prevention medicine (if older than 5 months) and micro chipped prior to adoption.
