Meet Admiral

Have you ever seen a cuter tripod?! Admiral (or Frank, as his foster family calls him) is a 3.5-year-old Bullmastiff with the most ridiculously droopy face and hilarious personality. Whether stretched out snoring or dozing off sitting up, you never have to wonder where to find him -- he's 100% couch potato. He loves to cuddle, but is too much of a gentleman to demand your attention. Instead, he'll sit right next to you and slowly lean in until, all of a sudden, you'll find him stretched across your lap. His world revolves around his people and he'll show you just how much he loves you with plenty of tail wags, body wiggles and excited grunts. And when you get home, he'll greet you at the door with his favorite toy in his mouth, as if to say "Look! I got this for you!"

He knows basic obedience, including sit, down, shake and roll over, but it's clear Frank never received the proper socialization and exposure for a dog his size. He can be leash reactive with some dogs and will need to continue learning proper leash manners. Given his size, Frank will require an adopter with large or XL breed experience who is committed to working with a trainer to help him become the well-rounded boy we know he's meant to be.

Frank is fostered with dogs ranging from 9-90 pounds, including one that is special needs, as well as cats and he's done well with all. He'd be perfectly content being the center of his family's attention or having dog and cat siblings with energy levels similar to his own. At about 85 pounds, Frank is still getting used to life on 3 legs and will therefore need a home with children who are older and considerate of his disability. He manages a few stairs getting in and out of his foster home and would do best in a home with minimal stairs for him to maneuver. His family should be prepared to support his medical and mobility needs as he gets older. If you have room in your heart and on your couch, apply to adopt this one-of-a-kind guy! His adoption fee is $250.

All of our dogs come spayed or neutered, fully up to date on vaccinations, including rabies (if age appropriate) and bordetella, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals.

For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the dog you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible.

We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where dogs can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting a dog in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.

Thanks so much for caring about a needy animal!
