Meet Adina 2 AMP
Hello! I'd give you the shirt off my back, but unfurtunately I'm not wearing a shirt, so I just mean that furgatively as an example of how pawlite and sweet my nature is. It's even how I got my name. My name is Adina and it litterally translates to "gentle" and I live up to it.
I'm an older girl (8 years to be exact!) but if memory serves me correctly, I must've started off life with a human who loved me, but at some point, I transitioned to a hard life on the streets. I lived that way for a very long time—until August 23, 2018.
Fate hit a y in the road and I almost took the wrong path. That fateful day I had decided I was too exhausted to go on. I found a shade tree to hunker down under. Unbeknownst to me, fate actually chose a good tree cause that's where some workers at a company found me....scrawny, missing a lot of hair, and too tired and thirsty to move. A wonderful rescue group named God's Dogs Rescue took me in, fed me, got me spayed, microchipped and vaccinated. The works!
I moved into an amazing foster home and since then, my favorite thing to do is be lazy around the house with my human companions. I get really excited to mosey about the yard. A mosey is all I can muster, I have trouble going on long walks because I hurt my elbow a long time ago which left me with a limp.
But it's good news for you!!! That also means I don't have enough oomph to jump up on people, furniture, or counter tops. Speaking of counter tops, food time is the best time! I love food so much I've gained nearly ten pounds in my foster home (I have A LOT of meals to make up for)! I now weigh about 33 pounds. My skin looks much better and my fur is growing back.
I've been through a lot but I have a lot to offer in my golden years. I am 100% house trained and know how to use a doggy door. While I don't like my crate, I'll put up with it....but just between you and me...you don't really need to crate me. I have a clear record and have never gotten into anything I wasn't supposed to.
My foster mom and dad have been trying to train me with words, but my ears don't work too well anymore. Basically my ears are just good at being cute floppy decor on my head! My eyes still work, so I have been doing very well with visual cues and with learning boundaries!
I would love to live out my years in a loving home and know I will be a great companion for someone special. At my foster home, I live with two dogs and a cat. I am also kind to children. I am about 8 years old, a cattle dog mix, low energy and heartworm negative. Be sure to ask to adopt Adina number 2 because there's another Adina, and I want to make sure you get me!!! The other Adina is really gentle too of course.
