Meet Adele

Adele came to us on 9/9/24. Then she went into surgery on 9/12/2024 for Pyometra, After Surgery she went into foster care while she rocovered and got comfortable, heres what her foster Mama has to say about her...

She is the perfect fit for someone looking for a velcro dog. She is a one in a million little girl. Based on her behavior, she was confined and used only for breeding. She was not a pet. In spite of that, she is willing to build a bond with her family.
She is potty trained. It is complicated. She has used a combination of outdoor and pads, no mistakes. The problem is that she needs to learn to evacuate her bladder more often. She was likely not given enough water so she licks her urine instead of emptying her bladder. She waits until her bladder is too full before she empties it. Foster family have been taking her out when she exhibits this behavior to encourage better behavior. She is making small progress.
She is the sweetest dog. This is the consensus of everyone who meets her. The groomer said she did not have a mean bone in her body.
She loves affection. If you want a dog to stay next to you so you can pet them, she is perfect. She loves scratches.
She is very trainable. Sadly, it seems no one has ever spoken to her. This is a bit of a challenge but extremely rewarding to work with her. She loves affection and attention even though it new and scary.
She loves car rides and rides in the dog stroller. She has moments of fear but she calms with time and exposure.
She keeps trying to overcome her fear. This is her superpower. New experiences and people are not easy for her. She keeps trying and building trust. She require patience.
Leash training is just beginning since she was recovering from surgery until recently.
Separation anxiety is a project that her foster mom is working to correct. Foster mom has also volunteered to help with some free babysitting if she is adopted in the local area.
She came from a group of dogs. She seems to have bonded to them but has not developed real world dog skills. Foster mom is seeking out an experienced foster mom with dogs to help her temper test her for dog interactions.
She is needs a very low activity home at this point. That could change with time.
She loves to look out the window in the house and the dog window in the fence.
