Meet Adele

Adele is a low maintenance, quiet girl who would be the perfect companion to a dog friend or two. Dogs bond with her like crazy. She does not crave attention from people and you will have to work for her affection. She is a bit shy but has come along way and will continue to blossom in a loving, safe home. Adele LOVES going on walks but we must always make sure she is securely leashed as she could get spooked and run.

Adele is a special girl that doesn’t require much except for some patience and love. She has very few needs.
They are:
A quiet safe space to relax in. Her crate is her safe space. Give her a dog bed. She will love that. **Adele tip** Make sure her crate is near the door so when you let her in, she can see it and won’t stress about searching for it.

In the beginning, we would suggest keeping a very long leash on her while she’s outside because she will be scared to come to you. This will pass though.

She is great inside the house, doesn’t jump on the furniture. And her foster mom has tried! She won’t chew on your belongings and she isn’t a barker. She is potty trained and crate trained. She would love a quiet space to relax in (aside from her crate) in a low traffic area of the house.

Adele loves walks. She wants to go on them and gets so excited, but plays hard to get when it’s time to leash her. **Adele tip** It’s easier to leash her while she’s in her crate. Also, don’t walk her in heavy traffic areas/main roads with lots of cars. And ONLY use a Slip Lead and harness on her.

Like with any rescue dog, be very aware of open doors. If there’s kids in the make sure they are aware of this. Crate her or put her in another room if doors are going to be open. There are no room for mistakes.

Adele doesn’t crave attention from people, but she does love dogs! She will need to be in a home with another dog. She is very patient with even the most playful dogs. She is always more likely to come up to you for pets and scratches if she is accompanied by a dog friend that will let her know that peoples are ok.

Please watch her weight. She’s already a bit plump so don’t overfeed her and go easy on the treats.

Adele has lived in a home with 3 small children under the age of 8 years old and was good with them.

I know this all seems like a lot to handle, but it’s just little precautions that need to be taken for Adele. She’s sweet and gentle but just a little nervous. Gain her trust, be good to her and she will be happy.
