Abby Black Labrador Retriever & Labrador Retriever Mix Berkeley Heights, NJ

Abby is ready to jump into your family's hearts and home! She's a sweet and playful 8-month-old Black Lab mix. Abby is nearly full grown at about 35 pounds, a perfect medium size! She has a stunning sleek black coat and big soulful eyes. Abby was rescued alongside her littermates from Crawfordville, Georgia, and cannot wait to find her forever family!

Although Abby can be a bit shy at first, her bouncy personality really shines with other confident dogs around! In no time Abby comes out of her shell to show her true and adorable personality.

She loves to be outside in her foster's fenced yard and comes right away when her name is called. Soft toys are her favorite (well, next to mealtime!) and she lives to play tug-of-war and wrestle with the other dogs at her foster home. At the same time, she understands when it's time for the grown-ups to work, and she naps and entertains herself calmly during the day...unless someone comes out for a carrot snack!

She may be shy at first, but once she warms up (particularly in the company of other friendly dogs) she is playful and energetic. Her second favorite time of day is when she sees her leash! She loves walks around the neighborhood and meeting all of the neighborhood dogs. She also loves playing in a fenced yard with her canine buddies. But her FAVORITE time of day is when the human kid comes home from school! She loves to give kisses and leaps across the room to greet her! She is great with kids and likes it best when they get on the floor to play with her.

Abby is primarily house trained, crate trained, and is working on her leash walking skills. Come and meet Abby with your four-legged family member(s)!

Abby is spayed, up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccinations, and microchipped.

HFG Dog Rescue is a 100 percent foster-based rescue located in Berkeley Heights, NJ with a sister location, The Almost Home Wellness Center, in Aiken, SC. All of our dogs are rescued from kill shelters in SC + GA and once ready for adoption live in loving local NJ foster homes until they find forever families of their own. Our fosters begin basic training, housebreaking, and leash-walking skills to help pair you with the perfect pup for life!
