Meet Abby! She's a sweet and playful 8-month-old Black Lab mix in a perfect medium size and a gorgeous sleek black coat. Although Abby can be a bit shy at first, her bouncy personality really shines with other confident dogs! She loves to be outside in her foster's fenced yard and comes right away when her name is called.

Soft toys are her favorite (well, next to mealtime!) and she lives to play tug-of-war and wrestle with the other dogs at her house. At the same time, she understands when it's time for the grown-ups to work, and she naps and entertains herself calmly during the day...unless someone comes out for a carrot snack!

She is so excited about SQUIRRELS! but loves to go on leash walks - even though sprinting through the yard is really the best thing ever. The human kid at her foster home is her favorite person in the house and she would LOVE to have a child best friend. She previously had a great time in a house with a cat too! Come and meet Abby with your four-legged family member(s)!

Abby is spayed, up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccinations, and microchipped.

HFG Dog Rescue is a 100 percent foster-based rescue located in Berkeley Heights, NJ with a sister location, The Almost Home Wellness Center, in Aiken, SC. All of our dogs are rescued from kill shelters in SC + GA and once ready for adoption live in loving local NJ foster homes until they find forever families of their own. Our fosters begin basic training, housebreaking, and leash-walking skills to help pair you with the perfect pup for life!
