Abby Redbone Coonhound Mix Portland, OR

ABBY! (Abigale) is a Redbone Coonhound mix (our guess). She was found tied to a tree after her person passed away and it is thought she spent most of her life tied to the tree with another dog tied to a tree nearby. She is 5 yrs old, and after gaining some weight she is 55 lbs,.

Abby came into rescue suffering from neglect. She had mange She has now completed treatment and her hair is growing back.

We don’t think Abby had much time in the house prior to coming into rescue. She sure loves it now! She has done great in a crate (although she is not destructive when left alone sleeping on the couch), she does great on leash, she loves car rides. She does great with cats. Children over 10 only for this girl (she prefers quiet). Abby is a quiet girl who needs another dog to hang out with in a quiet life style.

Abby lived in a rural setting and we are hoping we can place her into a quiet home in a quiet rural area. She absolutely needs a fenced yard that is secure (she will follow her nose and be gone). She is nervous going in and out of the doors to her house, her past people must have been harsh about that. You have to go out with her to make sure she does her business and then let her know its ok to come back inside.

Abby will only be adopted into a home with another dog. She looks to other dogs for comfort and does well with all the dogs she has met. Abby has recently learned about furniture and she LOVES sleeping on the sofa. She has no problem sleeping the day away. She also was invited into bed with her fosters and thinks that is pretty special too.

Abby has had her vaccinations, heart wormed tested, has been spayed, de-wormed, had flea treatment, and is microchipped. Her adoption fee is $350.
