Abby is 5 to 6 years old, female Walker Treeing Coonhound, great family pet although gets a little persistent about wanting attention (thinks she is lap dog), very obedient, house trained, leash trained, is a couch potato when in the house, uses a doggie door, can be bossy with another alpha female.
She has lived in a home with 4 other dogs. She Great with kids and small dogs as well.

She has lived on a 40 ac ranch with horses, donkeys and Scottish Highlander. She barks at them when they get to close to HER fence.

Good off leash when bonded with owner which is unusual for a hound.

Please call the shelter to make arrangements to meet Abby as she is not staying at the shelter.

We cannot confirm that dogs who come from the shelter will be house trained.

Most adoptable dogs will need some reintroduction into a home, potty training, basic manners and social skills.

Please be prepared to provide the training and dedication that will be needed.

We do not have any way of knowing if a dog or cat will do well with all children or all other animals.

*** This is why it is important that we introduce everyone in the home to the new pet. Please plan to have the whole family come visit.

*** We also require that any family dogs come into meet your potential adoptee. Please be sure your dogs are spayed or neutered and current on vaccines (distemper - parvo and rabies) before bringing them to the shelter.

*** All dogs must be transported home in a travel crate to transport your new pup home safely.


*** Renters must provide a copy of a lease indicating pets are allowed or contact information for the landlord.
