Meet Chico
This is Chico! He is comfortable around people, but is a bit timid when first introduced. He kind of whines a little bit, but is super sweet, and loves to curl up and sleep. He's a couch potato for sure. He just recently found his bark, but after a week of interacting with my kids, and it's playful. He's a super sweet dog.
He's putting some weight on, and his overall demeanor is improving, now wandering around the house and exploring. He loves being outside in the sun for naps. He is housebroken, but has had a few mistakes. We think he's still getting accustomed to our schedule but for the most part, has not been a problem.
We do think he was abused, and possibly left to fend for himself. When we got him he was super bony, and had scabs around his neck. He dreams at night, and does have nightmares where he barks and growls as if he was awake, and under attack, but we wake him up and soothe him and he does better. When he's awake he's by your side, and wants to be as close to you/touching you/in your lap.
