25-104 Luna - "NEEDS FOSTER!"'s Story

Luna is a stunning 2 year old 45 pound shepherdhusky mix who was abandoned in mid-November 2025 along with her four 7-month-old puppies. She's now spayed and preparing to begin heartworm treatment but she cannot get through her 30-day recovery without a foster home.

This sweet girl recently spent time in a temporary foster while healing from her spay, and she absolutely thrived. Luna is calm, affectionate, and wonderfully easy to have in the home. She enjoys a fenced yard, walks beautifully on leash, is fully house-trained, rides well in the car, and never turns down a pup-cup.

We urgently need a foster for Luna so she can rest safely and comfortably during her treatment. If you can open your home to her even temporarily please reach out or apply at www.dsda.org/foster. She truly deserves a soft place to land.

Boarding is no place for a gentle mom like her. She's unbelievably sweet, dog friendly, and just wants to feel safe and loved after everything she's endured. No cats please.

But here's the crisis:

This is one of those moments when the rescue community has to come together.

Please can YOU help us get Luna out of boarding and into a home?

Even a short-term foster will make all the difference. She deserves warmth, comfort, healing, and a soft place to land not a kennel run during the holidays.

If you can foster even temporarily PLEASE reach out now. Luna is counting on us. And we're counting on you. Just go to www.dsda.org/Foster and complete our no obligation Foster application.
