Meet 24Tesla
24Tesla aka Tessie
Female
Pyr/mix
3.5 yrs. old
Approx. 60 lbs.
Leash trained: Yes, but needs more work on not pulling
Crated trained: Yes
Potty trained: Yes, uses dog door
Dogs: Yes
Cats: No
Kids: Unknown (possible 12+)
Tessie came to me with a minor case of kennel cough; it was treated and cured. She also had a bladder infection which is now being treated. This sweet girl was in need of a rescue! When she first arrived at my house she was very shy with me but was willing to meet my dogs, she also refused to eat on day one but by the 2nd day and evening, she had her appetite back.
We walk on leash every day for about 2 miles, and this was a stretch for Tessie. While on leash she walks well, but off leash, she is looking for a cool place to curl up and rest. Then walk up to her place and she comes bounding out to play with the other dogs. She is learning to stay with me off leash, but this is not recommended for new adopters. Building trust would be necessary first.
We have worked to get over her shyness with humans and boy, is she responding. She is settling in quickly and now welcomes petting and hugs.
She uses the doggie door and loves to bask in the sun. She also loves to engage my resident dogs in play and can play all day into the evening.
Word learned: outside, potty, going to bed, into crate, walk
Words still working on: stop, sit, down, up (for car rides), left, right
She will resource guard where food is involved so we can only imagine the life she came from. Good news-she is now living the life she deserves. All that's left is a fantastic adopter to scoop her up and love on her!
If interested, we recommend submitting an adoption application at: www.foothilldogrescue.org
