Garcia is a calm and quiet guy, around 5 years old, available at the Spotsylvania Animal Shelter He has been incredibly patient waiting for his chance to get adopted. Garcia is extremely housebroken and walks like a dream on the leash. He does have some known food aggression in the home so meals would need to be fed with caution. He also takes treats vigorously so we recommend no children for Garcia's home. He would be a wonderful companion for a dog savvy owner. Once Garcia knows you, he is very sweet and affectionate.

All adoptions are based on a first-come-first-serve basis on the day the dog is available. You must be at least 18 yrs. old and provide a current ID. We learn about the animal's behavior by observing them in the enclosure and how they interact with the shelter staff. Shelter staff make their best guess estimation of whether they are good with other animals or children.

The adoption fee is $85, which covers a 1-year rabies vaccine and spay or neuter. Typically, all animals are altered before leaving the shelter if they are older than 16 weeks.
