ZURI is a soft and silky, solid white young adult female kitty about 3 years old. She is very shy around new people and environments, but once she trusts you and is comfortable in her new environment, Zuri will purr and cuddle with you, sleep on the bed with you each night, and will happily come to you when you put your hand out or when you shake her food dish. She adores petting from individuals she trusts, and sometimes she will reach out a gentle paw to bat at your hand when you stop petting her, to say “more please!” Zuri loves to bat small kitty toys across the floor, but since she will sometimes put new things with her mouth, it is important that she not be given anything chewable. Zuri gets along with calm, cat-friendly dogs, and would probably be okay with gentle, cat-savvy kids age 12 or older. After a slow introduction, she got along OK with some of the other cats in her foster home, but not with others – so she might be happiest as an only cat. Zuri would do best in a calm home, where she can warm up to her surroundings at her own pace. A veterinarian called our rescue group when Zuri’s owner brought her in to euthanize her because she had been living/hiding in their closet for the two years they had her. With patience and gentleness, Zuri has slowly learned that her home can feel safe and has become more confident in exploring it instead of hiding in a closet. She is now looking for a forever home that can provide her with the love and patience she needs to continue to blossom.
ZURI has been tested for feline leukemia and FIV (she is negative), spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, defleaed and dewormed – plus you get a free vet visit. Her adoption fee is $75, which is strictly to help cover our costs. She is currently in foster care. For more information please call
