Zuma Domestic Short Hair Smithfield, NC

Zuma is a special girl. When she was about 4 weeks old she was shot with an air rifle and suffered an eye injury. The air rifle pellet grazed her spine, and she was temporarily paralyzed. A local vet decided not to euthanize her immediately, but gave her time to heal. The vet and her foster mom had to express her bladder for about a week before she started to urinate on her own. Gradually, she started to use her back legs. When she was spayed, her blind eye was removed, as was the rifle pellet. She has and probably always will have a unique style of walking, but she gets around great, and chases her foster sisters around the room. She is not a big jumper. She is completely unafraid of the 75 pound dog in the house and likes to play with his tail. She is a spoiled little girl who sleeps with her foster mom all night long. Foster mom is having a hard time with this, but she knows that the right home will be better for Zuma to get even more attention. So if you are interested in adopting Zuma, be prepared for multiple questions and a crying foster mom! She is a great little girl who deserves her furever home.
