York is such a special cat. He was rescued off the street at a couple years of age. Despite living outside for awhile, York always craved human companionship and affection—when he sat on the lap of the feeder of his colony, she knew it was time to get him inside. He is just sweet and friendly at heart, that the desire for human affectionate and trust outweighed everything his surroundings otherwise taught him. This darling boy has acclimated to indoor life well and loves nothing more than good face scratches (get ready for purrs). He still gets a little jumpy and nervous with sudden movements, but we know that with time he will learn to fully relax. He enjoys spending his days on his cat tower, or jumping from window to window to watch the birds. York really enjoys the company of other cats, but gets a little intimidated by them in certain situations (like where he feels threatened or cornered), so would do best with a respectful cat who won’t bully him or be too forward, even if it’s just to play or be friendly. York is not a total scaredy cat though, and won’t hide even when new people come over. He really just needs a little time to learn to trust a new person and a new home. York really asks for so little, and just wants to be safe and loved while he overcomes his nervous nellies. York LOOKS much older than he is because he needed a lot of teeth removed after rescue—he’s actually only about five years old.
