Meet Dante and Yoda, aka "The Odd Couple"

Sometimes you meet a cat or two who just don't fit the mold. That's Dante and Yoda.

Yoda is a 2-year-old fluffy tuxedo boy. He’s wide-eyed and goofy and sweet. He loves to play and he loves his food and treats.

Dante is almost 3. He’s a gorgeous white and tabby boy whose luxurious coat just makes you want to pet him, but so far he has never bestowed this honour on a mere mortal in spite of his foster mom’s loving persistence! Dante was a semi-feral kitty when he was trapped at 5 months, and he hasn't yet come to appreciate human affection. That said, with his foster mom he is very companionable, joining her on the couch in the evening, eating treats from her hand, playing, even occasionally sleeping on her bed at night. He just makes himself scarce when there’s a lot of activity or new people come over.

Dante saves all his love and loyalty for his BFF Yoda. These two boys are totally bonded and must be adopted together. They talk to each other constantly, chattering and calling to each other when they’re separated.

These boys need a very special family who can be patient with their quirks. Yoda uses two side-by-side litter boxes (one with litter, one without) to do his business. Many attempts have been made to encourage him to use just one box with litter, but nothing has yet made a difference and the issue is manageable. When Yoda feels insecure, in particular with big changes or new cats in his home, he sometimes pees where he shouldn’t. That behaviour has always been situational and can be managed by identifying and addressing the source of his anxiety. His foster mom will be happy to provide his new family with ideas and support.

Yoda and Dante are looking for humans who will be sensitive to their needs and willing to work with them respectfully and patiently to address issues as they arise. They will thrive in a stable, quiet home, without kids or dogs. As they must be adopted together, the $250 fee is for both cats.

Dante and Yoda have been neutered, tattooed, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed and vet checked. Their medical records will accompany them upon adoption.
