Hello! My name is Yasmina, a lovely name for a lovely lady. I don't mean to sound stuck on myself, that's just what I hear people say! Everyone adores my radiant, lime-green eyes and kind spirit. When I first came to the shelter, I was very shy and uncertain about being petted, but not anymore! I might not jump out to the front of my cage when people are around, but if you stop by my cage to visit, I welcome your pets and am so grateful for attention. It feels so good to have staff and volunteers pet me! At this point, I'm not sure about being a lap cat, but you just never know how my personality will develop in a loving home. Once I feel comfortable, you'll see I have a fun, playful side. I enjoy playing with wand toys, as long as I can stay in my cage for now. I haven't ventured out to the playroom, but I think I've gained enough confidence to leave the confines of my cage and go have a meowin' good time in the near future. I would prefer a calm home with a quiet vibe. Older, respectful children will be best suited for me. I'm a beautiful, gentle flower waiting to be picked, so please stop by soon and get to know me better! Now, I must tell you I am FIV positive, but please don't let that keep you away! FIV is very misunderstood. Some people think it is easily spread, makes cats very sick, and lowers their life expectancy, but this is far from true! I can live a long, healthy, fulfilling life with proper diet and care, especially maintaining a healthy immune system. You can speak with the staff about FIV if you have any questions. They will be glad to help you. Many people who live and work with FIV+ cats report them to be more gentle and sweet than non-FIV+ cats!
