Meet Xavier

Xavier lost the only home he’d ever known when members of his household developed allergies. When he found himself at the shelter he was terrified and confused – he had no idea why he was there and why his people weren’t coming back for him. He had done nothing wrong – he was a mellow cat, great with kids and had no behavioural issues. The situation made no sense to him and he huddled in the back of his new cat cage for a long time, scared to let anyone near him. For a cat who has spent his whole life in one home, the shelter can be a scary place.

Xavier has started to accept his situation and is slowly getting better. He will now allow you to pet him briefly but he still tries not to be noticed. It is such a shame for a cat who was once a beloved family member to now be living scared and confused. Xavier needs a forever home with someone who will be patient and earn his trust. He shows signs of being a lovely cat which tells us that the old Xavier is still in there, he just needs to be gently encouraged to come back.
