We originally took Wonder Woman in back in August 2013 as a kitten. She was adopted in November 2013. She was recently returned because her adopters no longer wanted her. Wonder Woman is now up to date on shots, tested FeLV / FIV negative, and spayed. She is back living in a foster home.

Wonder Woman was born around June 2013 so she will be about 7-1/2 years old in January 2021. Losing her home was very difficult for Wonder Woman. She was hissing and very upset. She did not eat for several days. She did start eating but then hid for several weeks. She was depressed and would not get up even if she saw food. It was a slow process but now she trusts her foster mom and is very friendly. She loves to be petted and purrs easily. I have not tried her around other cats yet because she was wanting to attack them when we firast got her. She lived in a home with other cats so it is possible if introduced properly and given time, she could adjust to other cats again. But it might be best if she is in a home with no other cats. Will update this profile if I decide to try her with other cats. Older kind children should be ok with time. Probably no dogs.

Her next home must be a forever home! She has been let down by her original adopter who abandoned her back to the rescue. Help her trust again and be the one that will keep her forever.

She is one of the rare types of Hemingway Polydactyl kitties in that she has all four paws with extra toes! Also called Mitten Kittens because their feet are so much bigger - and some kitties actually use them like fingers and have been known to open doors. They actually look like they have catcher's mitts for paws. She is extra special, too, because she has seven (7) toes on her front paws and five (5) toes on her back paws, instead of the usual 5 and 4 - very rare to have that many. She absolutely cannot ever be declawed. It would cripple her.

Wonder Woman's adoption fee is $95.00.

WE ARE A NO-KILL 501-C-3 NON-PROFIT RESCUE. All donations are tax deductible. We do not have a shelter. All pets live in foster homes. We only adopt to indoor homes. To see an animal, you must fill out an application first and then once approved, we can set up for you to meet the animal you are interested in. We do background checks on all applicants. If you have assault, domestic abuse, or drug charges please do not apply. If you have questions, please send an email to waverlypetrescue@mchsi.com

All animals see a vet for shots and normal exams. If they appear healthy and there are no obvious health concerns, then extensive testing is not done. This is normal procedure for pet rescues and shelters.
Waverly Pet Rescue puts a lot of money into medical care for each dog and cat we take in. $250 is the average cost for basic care. This does not include if the animal had an injury, required extra flea / ear mite treatments, or needed extra days at the vet office.
