Be the Change took responsibility for a situation that would have been handled by Animal services. They would have euthanized all 15 , most likely. A woman died who rented her home out to someone who called BTC after calling other shelters (no one else helped the cats). These cats were part of a trap/neuter/release program. Seven years ago, the lady who died helped this bunch of kitties by putting an inside/outside door in her home, vetting them all, and feeding them. After she died, the tenant continued to feed and care for them until her heir started eviction proceedings and wanted this person to have animal services come in and take the cats. We took in eight. These were the friendlies, the others were not tame enough to re-home. We found someone else to feed them on her street and we have been working on vetting and care for the eight. This group is tightly bonded with each other, all are siblings or related in some way.

Whisper appears younger than the rest, it is very hard to tell their ages. All seem to be litter mates . . .?! Whisper is short haired and jolly! He hid out a lot when he first came in to foster care with the group, but now he shoots out and rubs on the nearest legs to show his appreciation for the 'good life'. He gets the best food and he has been vetted now. He loves his sister Sara. They are the last two still waiting for their chance for a forever home!!! BEST KITTIES EVER!
