Meet Warrior **RIP 8/25/21**
8/25/21 Warrior's foster mom made the difficult decision to put Warrior down yesterday. He was full of cancer and stopped eating and drinking. She did not want him to suffer so was with him when a vet euthanized him. He lived with his foster mom for 6 years and he had lots of love and attention. Rest in peace, sweet boy.

Warrior was a stray in Waterloo, Iowa, found back in 2015. He is living in a foster home. He is up to date on shots, tested FeLV / FIV negative, and neutered.
Warrior is about 6 years old as of March 2021. He is shy until he gets to know you. He likes to be petted but does not like being picked up or held. He does well with other cats. He has not been around dogs. A home with no children would be best.
It will take lots of time in a new home for Warrior. He must be started off either in a cage or a room alone. He will need space and time to adjust. And I do not mean an hour for time. I mean days, weeks, even months. He must have an experienced cat owner. And I do not mean a friendly experienced cat owner. I mean someone that has helped a scared or shy cat come around with time, love, space, and lots of patience.
Siblings: Leven, Dusky, Warrior.
Warrior's adoption fee is $95.00.
WE ARE A NO-KILL 501-C-3 NON-PROFIT RESCUE. All donations are tax deductible. We do not have a shelter. All pets live in foster homes. We only adopt to indoor homes. To see an animal, you must fill out an application first and then once approved, we can set up for you to meet the animal you are interested in. We do background checks on all applicants. If you have assault, domestic abuse, or drug charges please do not apply. If you have questions, please send an email to waverlypetrescue@mchsi.com
All animals see a vet for shots and normal exams. If they appear healthy and there are no obvious health concerns, then extensive testing is not done. This is normal procedure for pet rescues and shelters.
Waverly Pet Rescue puts a lot of money into medical care for each dog and cat we take in. $200 is the average cost for basic care. This does not include if the animal had an injury, required extra flea / ear mite treatments, or needed extra days at the vet office.
