Meet Vessel (Priscilla's Kitten) (Neutered) (In Foster Care) (Photos 8/16/2024)
Vessel is a cute male American Bobtail/Tabby kitten who was born in our shelter on April 13, 2024. His mother (Priscilla) had arrived on April 9, 2024 and was 'very' pregnant. Thankfully Priscilla had a few restful days being pampered in a soft blanket-filled cage while she awaited the birth of her babies. Priscilla gave birth to five kittens on April 13th. Four of her kittens survived but the fifth one was stillborn :( Our kennel techs chose the names Lzzy Hale, Maria Brink, Noah Sebastian, and Vessel for the newborns.
Priscilla was accompanied by an older Bobtail/Dilute Tortoiseshell kitty (June) whom we are 99.9% sure is her mother. June gave birth to five kittens on April 10, 2024.
Fortunately for them, HSOV volunteer/foster mother Wendy Jo Irvin offered this blended family of two mothers and their nine kittens a temporary home on May 4, 2024 where they could raise their babies in a loving home environment instead of a small shelter cage.
Vessel has an orange tabby short smooth coat in a marbled tabby pattern, a tiny bobtail, and an adorable kitten face with bronze-colored eyes, a pink nose, and long white whiskers.
Vessel was given wormer on May 4, 2024. He was given vaccinations and wormer on May 24, 2024 and was given booster vaccines on June 11, 2024.
These pictures of Vessel were taken on August 16, 2024 when his foster mother brought both sets of kittens in for their 'big boy/big girl photos'. Vessel has sweet, rather demure, personality and was a little in awe of the fake autumn leaves, fall foliage, and wicker basket in our 'studio'. Vessel was very happy when his foster mother picked him up to cuddle in her arms after his photo session was finished.
Vessel was neutered on August 11, 2024 and was also given rabies vaccine. He weighed 4.6 lbs that day. Vessel is ready to find a fabulous home. Naturally we'd love to see him adopted with one of his siblings (or cousins) since kittens do so much better in pairs.
Vessel and his siblings (and cousins) are still in foster care. HSOV adoption applications are currently being accepted for these beautiful kittens, and a meet-and-greet can be arranged with an approved HSOV application.
Thanks to their foster mother for taking the most wonderful care of these delightful kittens (and their two awesome mothers). They have definitely been showered with love and attention and will arrive 'pre-spoiled' in their new homes (smile).
