Meet Veronica & Vanna

In honor of International Women’s Day, we present these two amazingly beautiful young women, Daisy (aka Vanna) and May (aka Veronica). Daisy is a grey, one-year-old, long-haired, pristine princess and May is a chatty, one-year-old, short-haired tiger. They are the yin to each other’s yang and are besties. These two young ladies lived together and had their babies around the same time so they formed a very strong mama bond. They love to talk and have amazing conversations between them, with May often chirping if she can’t instantly find Daisy. Instead of fist bumps, because they are graceful ladies, they have developed sweet nose bumps that they do multiple times a day to one another as they walk by one another. Though they don’t snuggle together often, they can always be found snoozing right near one another. Outside of their scheduled nap times, these two young ladies are dedicated to their playing. They have nightly friendly competitions, racing around the house, but May always wins because Daisy always cuts the race short to roll around and hope for a belly rub from her foster parents. Being her chatty self, May will try to entice Daisy to get up again with a sweet series of chirps, telling her she’ll let her win if she just gets up and races again!! When Daisy doesn’t fall for it, May finds any toy to occupy herself with. She likes to imagine her mice toys are real and loves to carry them around to random hiding spots in the house. Daisy is very independent but still loves to plop herself down on her foster mom’s computer each morning, looking for attention. May is a little more babyish and needy and has the makings of a cuddler. As perfect and sweet as they are on the surface, it is their early life story that really will win your heart. These two strong little ladies define resilience. They didn’t have an easy start to life and didn’t understand that humans could be trusted. When they arrived at their foster home, both girls were very scared but Daisy put on her tough girl armor, despite being fearful herself, and guarded May and the babies from all the unknown things around them. Daisy began to believe in her toughness and warmed up to her foster parents more quickly. May wants to love and be loved desperately but her fear sometimes gets the best of her. Loud noises and quick movements are her nemesis but she is working every minute to get over her fears because she wants nothing more than human love and attention. She has made tremendous progress due to her dedicated foster parents and she will continue to thrive in a quiet and calm home. Their forever family or person should be someone who is patient and willing to give these girls the time and love that they need to learn that they will be forever safe and cared for. The reward for not giving up on them will be double lady love and they may even let you in on their secret cat chats or give you a nose bump!!

If you are interested in adopting, please fill out our online adoption application by copying and pasting the link below:
http://thecatconnection.org/adopt/adoption-application/
You will get a quicker response doing this rather than emailing us.

Also please consider fostering as an alternative to adoption: http://thecatconnection.org/get-involved/foster/

We request $100 for each cat 10 and over, $150 for each cat 5-10 years old, $200 for each cat 1-4 years old, and $225 for each kitten under a year old. These fees fund neutering, vaccinations, and combo testing (feline leukemia and FIV) for your adopted cat, rescue efforts, shelter, and veterinary care. Our policy is to adopt kittens in pairs. We find that kittens are much happier when they have a companion and they tend to expend their youthful energy on each other rather than on your couch! Kittens are adorable, but older cats can be wonderful pets as well and they tend to be overlooked, so please consider adopting an adult cat or two!

The Cat Connection is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3)organization of volunteers who rescue homeless cats. To find out more about us, please visit our web site: http://thecatconnection.org/
