Meet Vance

We would like to introduce you to Vance, a handsome, four-year old all-around good guy. Vance arrived at his foster mom’s house like many foster kitties do…scared and timid. Vance used a closet as his hideout for a couple of weeks and then began to trust – and become quite fond of – his foster mom. Fast forward to today…where you can find Vance on his foster mom’s lap, sleeping on her bed, or close by to wherever she is in the house. He just needed a little time to get the lay of the land and to make sure she was someone he could trust – and clearly, she passed his test with flying colors! Actually, any friend that has come over has gotten to experience "Vance-love" and have all fallen for this little charmer. Though not a kooky kitty anymore, Vance is still a young guy and is quite playful and active. His current favorite target is his feather toy, who endures quite a lashing during each play session! Vance also is an avid watcher of "Bird TV," enjoying many window views in his foster home. When foster mom is moving around too much (the nerve of her to clean the house! He will head up to “his room” where he has created a fort that he uses as his retreat from the world. He snuggles up on a blanket, under a sheet covering the couch, and enjoys his bit of private time.

Vance has been dealing with some episodes of asthma exacerbation but is a very easy patient for his foster mom. Hearing that a kitty has asthma might seem concerning or overwhelming. But, fear not! It is both manageable and affordable. Raising a kitty with asthma can be very rewarding as it allows you two to create a special bond. He will develop a trust in you and you will know that you are helping him to live his healthiest and best life! He hopes that his forever person/family will be able to let him get used to his new home and be patient as he gets comfortable. He also hopes that there are laps available for snuggling, because he promises to keep them warm and occupied his quiet demeanor, easy-going disposition and his companionable nature have truly won over his foster mom’s heart and she knows his perfect forever home is out there. If your lap is lonely and you have room for this sweet boy in your home and heart, then Vance is the guy for you!

If you are interested in adopting, please fill out our online adoption application by copying and pasting the link below:
http://thecatconnection.org/adopt/adoption-application/
You will get a quicker response doing this rather than emailing us.

Also please consider fostering as an alternative to adoption: http://thecatconnection.org/get-involved/foster/

We request $100 for each cat 10 and over, $150 for each cat 5-10 years old, $200 for each cat 1-4 years old, and $225 for each kitten under a year old. These fees fund neutering, vaccinations, and combo testing (feline leukemia and FIV) for your adopted cat, rescue efforts, shelter, and veterinary care.

Our policy is to adopt kittens in pairs. We find that kittens are much happier when they have a companion and they tend to expend their youthful energy on each other rather than on your couch! Kittens are adorable, but older cats can be wonderful pets as well and they tend to be overlooked, so please consider adopting an adult cat or two!

The Cat Connection is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3)organization of volunteers who rescue homeless cats. To find out more about us, please visit our web site: http://thecatconnection.org/
