Meet Tuesday
Hi, my name is Tuesday! I am a young sweet kitty looking for my perfect home. Since I am a stray, we don’t have much history on me, but here at the shelter I have been friendly, outgoing, and super playful. I LOVE rope toys and cuddling up against people to get attention. The people who found me said I did well with the dogs and kids in the home. We do not know how I would do with cats, and slow introductions with any animal would be best. Medical notes: Tuesday was surrendered with a history of not using the litter box. Litter box aversion can be caused by a variety of medical or behavioral problems. Since his arrival Tuesday has shown consistent litter box use. He has been using an open style litter pan with clay type litter.
A urinalysis revealed numerous crystals in the urine. In some cats, struvite crystals and bladder stones form as a result of a urinary tract infection. In most cases however, cats develop struvite stones in the absence of an infection. In these cases, the exact cause is unknown. Tuesday was started on a special prescription diet to help dissolve these crystals and promote urinary bladder health. A repeat urinalysis is recommended in 14 days. Please see your veterinarian for further recommendations, diagnostics and treatment concerning this condition.
