Tristan's Story

***Although he does not show aggression towards other cats, Tristan craves human company more and would really love to be in a home where people are around constantly to be with him.

Tristan (aka Buddy) is a handsome 5 year old tabby. Although he was named Tristan because he has a soulful look (triste is French for sad), he actually has the most expressive green eyes and a perpetual smile on his charming face. He is as soft as velvet and equally sweet to touch!

Tristan had a rocky start in life – abandoned originally and given up by his first foster due to conflict with another pet. Even so, he was quick to adjust to his new foster home.

He wants to be with his human all the time and will follow you around wherever you go. He loves to be pet and have some belly rubs. He is quiet and a bit reserved at first, but he is a lovebug and purrs to let you know you are special to him. Recently, Tristan has experimented with jumping on laps just to try it out, but even if he’s still not totally down on lap cuddles, he has no problem snuggling up against you and resting his chin on your arm before curling up for a cuddle his way. He just needs to keep constant contact with you to be happy.

He is food-motivated with a healthy appetite, although he doesn’t tolerate fish well. Fortunately, there are many protein options to try! He loves his treats and will take them from your hand. He has excellent litter habits and is a very clean cat.

He has not spent time around other cats or dogs but has seen a cat from a distance and doesn’t show any aggressive behaviour. Tristan would do well in a home where he is the sole pet or with another friendly cat. He is not a lap cat (yet!) but has potential to become one. He forges real connection with the people in his space who love him, and responds in kind. Tristan will make an excellent companion for anyone who wants a loving, devoted pet.

Would you like to make Tristan a part of your family? Please complete our online application found at: https://www.avacats.org/adoption-application-form.

Our adoption fees cover vetting and include spay/neuter, vaccines (initial FVRCP and rabies), flea treatment, two dewormings and microchipping.

Adoption fees are $250 for each adult cat 1 year or older. Please note that fees may apply for additional required vaccinations (at $75 per booster) due prior to adoption. Total adoption fees will be confirmed by the AVA Adoption Coordinator.
