Toby is a 4-year-old Exotic Shorthair and the sweetest boy you'd ever want to meet. He is a very handsome boy with large round copper eyes and a dense, thick, plush grey tabby coat, which makes him appear more rounded in appearance. Toby weighs 9-1/4lbs. The Exotic shorthair breed is known as a lazier breed so you will need to encourage him to exercise. That won't be a problem for Toby because he loves to play with plastic coated springs. You throw a spring, and he chases it and continues the game on his own. The fun and laughs you will have as you throw a spring and watch the fun!
Toby came to Purebreds Plus after his owner died. The owner's daughter couldn't keep him because of allergies. We were called by a local shelter and asked to take him. He did come into rescue with a left eye problem called Entropion. With this eye condition, the eyelid rolls onto the eye, causing abnormal and painful friction with the eye surface. Toby was seen by an animal eye specialist. The surgery estimate was $2500-$3000, so we posted him for donations and our supporters stepped up to donate towards Toby's Entropion surgery. He is now healed but his adopter needs to know that he will need eye checkups over the years, preferably by an animal eye specialist.
The perfect home for Toby will be as an only cat with a single person or couple who are home a lot and capable of giving him lots of time and attention. He is eating Stella & Chewys Freeze-Dried Raw Coated Kibble, Cage-Free Chicken Recipe, Grain Free cat food. The very small pieces make it easier for him to chew the food. Toby would love a smaller cat tree in front of a window where he can enjoy his sun baths and a cat bed to take naps in. Simple pleasures for Toby. And, of course, his springs!
Toby is neutered, vaccinated, FELV tested, dewormed, microchipped, and eats dry food.
Purebreds Plus Cat Rescue is dedicated to matching exceptional cats with qualified adopters who will cherish their pet and create an ideal forever home.
Purebreds Plus Cat Rescue (www.purebredsplus.org), serving Northern California, San Francisco Bay Area, and Northern Nevada, is dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, and rehoming of purebred cats, kittens, and other exceptional felines. We are a 501 (c)3 non profit rescue group. Most of our beautiful felines come from Northern California Animal Shelters. One of our goals is to keep purebred cats from ever ending up in a shelter. We are happy to help you if you need to rehome your purebred cat. Often, we can offer advice if your cat is having behavioral problems, and you may end up keeping the cat. We do NOT ship cats. We will place cats out of area but you must arrange to come and meet your new friend in person.
