Meet Toby
Meet Toby! This handsome 5 year old feline is on the hunt for a loving adooter. Toby has a laid back personality and loves helping his foster mom work from home. He enjoys catnip, wand toys, and napping in sunbeams. Prior to joining Ten Lives, Toby lived outside and was struggling to survive. A Good Samaritan contacted Ten Lives for help and our Community Cats team was able to humanely trap him. It was obvious that his time outside had been very traumatic as he was thin, matted, and had multiple injuries. With the help of the Lazzy Fund, Toby had his health concerns addressed and started to acclimate to indoor life.
As with so many former community cats, Toby was incredibly scared when he first arrived. With the support of his foster mom, he has blossomed into a sweet and endearing feline. He has made tremendous progress and now enjoys receiving attention and being spoiled. Toby's ideal home will include patient adopters who can give him time to adjust and blossom. He enjoys the company of his feline foster sibling and we think he could be a great companion for a friendly feline in your home.
Due to living outside, Tobby tested positive for feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV). This is a cat-specific virus that is transmitted through deep bite wounds that are typically seen with outdoor male cats who are not neutered and fighting over territory. It cannot be passed onto humans or dogs, and is not transmitted through shared litter boxes or bowels. To learn more about FIV, please visit the link below.

Toby is scheduled for a dental at the beginning of March, but is now accepting applications for adoption. He's ready to meet you!

ABOUT TEN LIVES:
Ten Lives is a foster-based program and does NOT have a brick and mortar facility with regular visiting hours. We are a 100% volunteer-powered organization and require an approved adoption application prior to scheduling meet and greets with animals. This is out of respect for the time, privacy, and safety of our foster families, as well as helping to ensure our animals are matched to the homes that best meet their needs.
We require that all applicants have a satisfactory veterinary reference and provide proof of homeownership OR landlords approval. We will contact all applicants who meet our minimum requirements within 96business hours of receiving your application.During kitten season wait times may be longer. We ask for your patience as we are all volunteers!
All Ten Lives cats are spayed/neutered, receive age-appropriate vaccinations, are tested for FIV/FeLv and parasites, dewormed, treated for fleas, and microchipped. These services are inclusive of the adoption fee.
