Tobia - No Longer Accepting Applications Domestic Short Hair Mix Minneapolis, MN

Tobia (aka Hidey) is an approximately 6-year-old beautiful silver-butterscotch torti-tabby. She came to Pet Haven from a hoarding situation and has so far made a remarkable transformation during her three months in foster care. Tobia went from hiding 24/7 and trembling when her foster humans tried to touch her to jumping up on their laps, head-butting them, and purring! She's still working on coming out of her shell, though, and will run to hide if her humans move too fast or one of them walks into the room while the other is snuggling with her. She still isn't a fan of meeting new people, either, and prefers people to be sitting down or squatting when they meet her.

Tobia has also made a huge breakthrough recently…she has started to play! She enjoyed batting a leaf and chasing a laser pointer, both giant steps for her. She will probably take time to learn all the ins and outs of how to cat, due to her previous living situation, but she is making great progress. She is cat-friendly and would enjoy the presence of a cat friend in her forever home. The ideal home for Tobia would be a quiet place without small kids or raucous parties. She will need loving and patient humans who can help her continue to build confidence and trust.

Tobia recently had 15 teeth removed due to painful decay, which improved her anxiety level and her mood. It has also given her a kind of goofy smile. She eats kibble, but her foster humans also give her a can of soft food every day.

Please note there may be additional follow up visits and boosters that are not covered by Pet Haven after adoption.
