Meet Tillie

Meet Tillie…

Hi, Im Tillie, a one year old domestic short haired kitty, born and raised in the streets of South Philadelphia. That is, until about 8 weeks ago, when my neighbors noticed that I was walking “funny.” My front leg was turned in and I was getting around on three legs, instead of four. I guess they were worried about me being out on the streets like that, so they trapped me and off to the hospital I went. I stayed there for two nights and the staff took care of the wound that was on my leg. They gave me lots of meds and I went home with one of the neighbors on my block to get better. She called it “foster care,” so I guess I stay with this lady until I find my forever home. I’m not going to lie, while it was weird to be around her and her other cats and dogs, I really like being in a house! I don’t have to worry about how I am going to get my food, or where I need to hide to be safe. It’s way better than being out on the streets. My foster mom was still concerned about me though, because while my boo boo healed and I finished taking all of my medicine, I still wasn’t able to walk using all four legs. So she tricked me into the crate, and off to the doctor I went to get a second opinion. This doctor gave me an official diagnosis, Radial Nerve Paralysis. So I have no feeling in my paw/wrist. The doctor says I will be fine and can live a normal healthy life. I’ll just be moving on three instead of four legs. And don’t worry, I don’t have any pain or discomfort. I just walk funny. Some of my favorite things to do is to sit in the window and watch the world from the comforts of home. I also like to play with the feather on the fishing rod. My foster mom loves to interact with me that way, so I bat it around for her. I also LOVE sleeping in my foster mom’s big, soft, comfortable bed! That’s really my favorite! I didn’t have anything like that out in the streets. One of my foster sister kitties is super annoying. She always tries to play with me, but I just am not ready for all that yet. While I tolerate her, I wouldn’t mind being the only kitty. I like chillin with my foster mom, she just has to take it slow with me. I’m a “work in progress!” One thing I do know for sure is that I have no interest in living outside again. Looking forward to meeting you!
