Meet Tiger

Are you looking for a friendly senior to be your loyal companion? Tiger is a 12-year old male cat with a sad story. A Good Samaritan began leaving food out for him, an apparent stray, when she moved into her new home. Upon inquiring with neighbors, she learned he had been roaming the neighborhood for close to a year. When his owner went into assisted living, the elderly woman's family put Tiger and her small dog out on the street, abandoning them. Concerned that Tiger was so skinny, the Good Samaritan contacted Feline Lifeline.

From Tiger's microchip, we learned his owner had since passed away and her family wanted nothing to do with him. He was skin and bones from starving on the streets when he was rescued. He probably would not have survived much longer on his own. We learned part of the reason he was so skinny was because he needed urgent dental treatment; his mouth was swollen and bloody. Tiger was diagnosed with stomatitis, a condition that is best treated with full-mouth tooth extraction. We are happy to report Tiger is recovering from surgery. Once fully recovered, he will need a loving, safe home. Tiger also requires thyroid medicine, which is inexpensive and he takes easily. However, aside from these conditions, which are being treated and managed, he is a very healthy cat for his age.

Tiger appears to be a Color Point Siamese mix, but we cannot verify his heritage. What we do know is that Tiger is very sweet and loving and enjoys being around people. He is a quintessential lap kitty who is always hanging around for pets and loving. Prior to being abandoned, Tiger did live with a dog, so after a gentle slow introduction, he should be OK. After being safe and secure for a long time, Tiger is now in a tough spot and hoping to find someone who will give him the love he needs while he returns it in kind. Will you help this amazing cat live out his golden years in a loving home?
