Hello friends! Please welcome Thelma (grey/white tabby) and Louise (dilute calico) to the Scruffy family. These two beauties are 10 months old and absolutely the sweetest pair. I had a chance to chat with them this weekend and find out what they were looking for in their furever family...

SPV: Hello Thelma! Hello Louise! I am so happy to meet you.
Thelma: You're a real live outlaw, aren't ya?
SPV: No, Thelma, I am a Scruffy Paws volunteer. Sorry to disturb your cat nap.
Thelma: I don't ever remember feeling this awake. You know what I mean?
SPV: Sure, so girls, tell me your thoughts on being rescued.
Thelma: Everything looks different. You feel like that, too, like you got something to look forward to?
SPV: I see, so you are looking forward to finding your family.
Thelma: Hey, we could change our names!
Louise: We could live in a hacienda!
Thelma: I gonna get a job. I'm gonna work at Club Med.
SPV: Okkkk...what would you like potential adopters to know about you?
Thelma: We are shy at first; we need time to adjust to our surroundings, so please don't try to pick us up.
Louise: We may be shy, but we do love attention!
Thelma: And playtime! Whatever you got, toys, wands, bouncy balls, our tails.
SPV: Hey, do you hear that? Sounds like a motor running.
Thelma: Oh. That's Louise! You gave her attention.
SPV: Anything else you'd like to add?
Thelma to Louise: You said you and me was gonna get out of this town and for once just really let our hair down. Well, darlin', look out, cause my hair comin' down...I mean, after we have time to acclimate to our new home and family, of course.

Thelma and Louise are a sweet duo. Our hope is that they will be adopted together or with another outgoing cat. They adore other cats, and if you have a friendly cat in your family already, perfect! We are unsure how they will be in a home with dogs. And we feel that a home with older children would be best for these timid girls. The adoption fee for Thelma and Louise is $200 each.

All adoption fees include spay/neuter surgery, microchip, rabies, and distemper vaccinations, proof of FIV/feline leukemia testing, flea treatment, deworming, and an exam by a licensed veterinarian.

Our shelter hours are by appointment only and are not open to the public. Many of our cats and kittens are located in foster homes. An adoption application MUST be submitted and approved before meeting our cats/kittens. We do this for the safety of our fosters and potential adopters.

Our adoption process includes the following:

1. Adoption Application
To be considered for this cat(s) or kitten(s), you MUST complete an adoption application:
- Through our website (preferred) at www.scruffypawsanimalrescue.org/
- Email a copy to scruffypawsanimalrescue@gmail.com
- Drop off a hard copy to either of our partner PetSmart locations (Johnston or North Smithfield)
- Mail a hard copy to Scruffy Paws Animal Rescue at 2944 Post Rd. Warwick, RI 02886

2. Veterinary Reference
Please call your vet ahead of time to give permission to release records to our adoption team. Out-of-state adoptions typically require an exceptional veterinary reference and are at the discretion of our adoption team.

3. Proof of Home Ownership OR Landlord Approval
The landlord's contact information must be provided if renting so our adoption team can seek approval.

4. Home Visit
Please make sure you are located in our vicinity. We are based out of Warwick, RI. Due to COVID-19, we are currently doing virtual home visits until further notice.
