Meet Teddy

At first glance, you see beautifully soft, grey fur and a uniquely curled tail. And in most situations, a glance is all you'll see of sweet, shy four year Teddy. We don't know much of Teddy's previous life, but whatever trials life threw at him, Teddy did not harden himself to the world; there is not a mean bone in his body! Teddy is hesitant and skittish around people, but loves the other cat in his foster home.

And boy, does he love toys! When he suspects that no one is watching he will launch full speed at a mouse or stuffed catnip toy. He will bat it, toss it, chase it to his heart's content. Teddy has a wide range of voices and some may suspect that he was an entertainer in his past life.

Teddy may not ever be a lap cat or even snuggle up on the couch with you, but with time he has been confident enough to play in the same room as his foster mom while she's working. As shy as Teddy might be, all is overcome with food. With some coaxing and patience, Teddy will let you sit next to him while he eats, and you will be able to gently pet him where you can feel his soft, silky fur.

Teddy will do best in a home with another friendly, easy-going cat that will show him the ropes. He is quick to mimic and learn, in his own goofy way. Teddy will become more comfortable with people over time, but patience is required as he works at his own speed. Treats (especially squeeze ups and baby food) will help move that process along. With time, Teddy the Shy becomes Teddy the Entertainer and will fill your days with chuckles as he tackles a mouse around the house. If you are ready to set the stage for Teddy's next act, contact us to meet him today!

Teddy is cross eyed as you can see, and has a corneal scar. These conditions do not require any treatment. He likely has some reduced vision but it doesn't keep Teddy from playing and living his best life!
