Tazzy…Female Black and White Tuxedo Domestic Shorthair…Spayed, Front Paw Declawed and up to date on shots and Negative for FeLV/FIV. 16 years old as of January 2021.
Tazzy's owner in Waterloo, Iowa, passed away when Tazzy was 11 years old.
~ sweet, affectionate and friendly.
~ talkative but not overly so.
~ playful with her toys and is a very active senior lady.
~ a window cat. The world is so interesting to watch.
~ NOT a lap cat.
~ not good with other cats/dogs.
~ good with people and older respectful children.
~ affectionate and loves to be petted but also likes her space.
~ She is such a queen! She prances around her room like she owns the whole place. She loves to be petted gently on her head and around her ears but also likes to just be around her people. She likes to snuggle up close to you but doesn’t want to be on your lap and she does not like to be held. She would love to be with an older couple, a single person or a family with older children. She came to us when her owner passed away. Her owner had her since she was 12 weeks old. She always received vet care and is in excellent health. She gets senior bloodwork every year and there have never been any problems.
~ Transitions and change are challenging for her because she was not moved around when she was younger. She will need time and patience from the person that adopts her in the first couple weeks to month in her new home. She mostly just needs to be given the space and the chance to come out in her own time and not be rushed. She needs to be kept in one room to start as this helps calm her down and makes the transition go more quickly. She doesn’t love going to the vet, but she does fairly decent at going in her carrier. She tends to be a bit hissy and bat at the vet but otherwise she takes it pretty well especially if her owner stays with her.
~ Once she trusts someone, she loves them unconditionally. She just wants to know that you have her best interest at heart. She just wants to be loved for who she is and her own strengths and weaknesses. She is looking for a home where she will be loved, respected and easily provided for throughout the rest of her life. Please consider making Tazzy part of your family today.
Adoption fee is $50.
WE ARE A NO-KILL 501-C-3 NON-PROFIT RESCUE. All donations are tax deductible. We do not have a shelter. All pets live in foster homes. We only adopt to indoor homes. To see an animal, you must fill out an application first and then once approved, we can set up for you to meet the animal you are interested in. We do background checks on all applicants. If you have assault, domestic abuse, or drug charges please do not apply. If you have questions, please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org
All animals see a vet for shots and normal exams. If they appear healthy and there are no obvious health concerns, then extensive testing is not done. This is normal procedure for pet rescues and shelters.
Waverly Pet Rescue puts a lot of money into medical care for each dog and cat we take in. $200 is the average cost for basic care. This does not include if the animal had an injury, required extra flea / ear mite treatments, or needed extra days at the vet office.
