Taiko and Ochiba Domestic Short Hair Royal Oak, MI

Hello, we are Taiko (a smoky gray “werewolf” kitten) and Ochiba (a sleek, black beauty). We’re a mother-daughter pair who are the very definition of bonded!

Our story began at DACC, where we were almost put to sleep because we stayed too long. Momma Ochiba was overprotective of me (Taiko) and didn’t trust humans at first. But once we were saved and brought into foster care, everything changed. Ochiba has blossomed into the sweetest, most loving girl. She’ll bonk her head against you, purr endlessly, and squeal with the cutest little meows, asking for all the pets and cuddles. She absolutely loves belly rubs and will rub herself all over you for affection.

As for me, Taiko, I do everything my mom does, but with kitten energy! I play hard—until I’m panting—but I’m always ready for more fun. When it’s bedtime, both of us will jump up to join you, make biscuits on you, and settle in for snuggles. Oh, and did we mention? We both adore belly rubs—it’s our favorite thing ever!

We’ve been in foster care since June 2024, and while we’ve grown up here (I’m now a lanky 8 lbs, and Ochiba is delightfully plump), we’re so ready for a forever home. Being listed as a bonded pair has made it harder for us to find interest, but we can’t imagine life without each other.

Adoption fees are as follows: $155 for a single cat or kitten, $195 for a pair of cats or kittens. When adopting a cat from AHSEM the adoption includes spay or neuter surgery, age appropriate core vaccines, microchipping, combo tested (for FIV/FeLV), and basic wellness care including deworming and flea treatment.
