Sweet Pea's Story

Hello! It's nice to meet you. My name is Sweet Pea, and I'm a five-year-old tabby female.

I came from another shelter that focused on spaying and neutering stray cat populations. During my time at their clinic, they discovered that I'm a friendly girl, even though I can be a bit nervous. New situations are sometimes scary for me, but the staff was patient, allowing my personality to shine through. Eventually, I was transferred to Stray Haven, where I was welcomed with open arms!

It's true, I'm a shy cat at first, but once I feel comfortable with you, I become an affectionate girl who can purr all day long. Some of my favorite activities include rolling in catnip, playing with toys, watching nature through the window, and enjoying head and chin scratches. Loud noises and sudden movements make me nervous, so I would thrive best in a calm home, ideally with older children if they are present.

One more thing, I've tested positive for a disease known as feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV), which makes me more vulnerable to illness. Because FIV is contagious among cats, I need to be the only cat in the home. If you have any questions about FIV, don't hesitate to ask the staff.
.....
For 357 days, I've been here at Stray Haven waiting for someone to choose me. If you could stop by, I just know I would win your heart and hopefully, a place in your home.

Thanks for listening.

Sweet Pea-
Stray Haven's longest resident
.....
Never been to Stray Haven?
Stop by!
No appointment needed
.....
Stray Haven
194 Shepard Road
Waverly, New York 14892
.....
Hours
Tuesday-Friday 10-5
Saturday 10-4
Stray Haven Humane Society & SPCA
194 Shepard Rd., Waverly, NY 14892
(607) 565-2859, www.strayhavenspca.org
Open hours:
Tuesday-Friday 10am-5pm
Saturday-Sunday 10am-4pm
Closed on Mondays
