It is a long read and a long adoption process. Please understand we are ensuring that our babies go to great homes and we don't know you personally (yet). Understand that this is an adoption of a beautiful little soul that deserves the absolute best life.


SWAN and 10 other cats were saved from the shelter. Most of them were black cats. Its so unfortunate the bad stigma that these cats get. Lucky for them, (just like our logo shows) we LOOOVE black cats! According to the rescue mama that has been saving cats for over 20 years, black cats for over 20 years, black cats are the best cats EVER! SWAN was one of 2 cats that was not black. But she is related to MARISOL VERA and MAGGIE VERA...so we had to save her.


SWAN was very unhappy when we got her. She is still not fond of being picked up. Loves to play with her sisters MAGGIE VERA and MARISOL VERA. She loves to play by herself too. She will come running to eat her can food! She is very sweet and curious.


SWAN (vet believes) had a bad infection in her eye or was injured and that caused her eye to look the way it does. She can see and it does not cause her any pain or problems to play!


SWAN is a DOMESTIC SHORT HAIR / DILUTED CALICO MIX. He is about 6 months old and is good with cats. In his foster home, she was around other kittens and older cats. She has never been around dogs that we are aware of or children. She will definitely needs a cat / kitten buddy at home. We will not approve an adoption if she does not have a young cat / kitten buddy at home.


SWAN is currently at PETSMART in Palm Desert, California off Monterey Avenue.


ADOPTION PROCESS:

1. Go to Workinwhiskers.com (Click on ADOPT)
2. Fill Out Online Form
3. Submit Online Application
4. Someone Will Call / Text to Do Phone Interview
5. Will be notified of Approved Application
6. Home Visit (WILL BE SCHEDULED)
7. Official Meet and Greet with Kitty
8. Sign Adoption Contract
9. Pay Adoption Fee (VENMO - ZELLE - PAYPAL or CASH)
10. Take the Kitty Home

MAY 2023: VOLUNTEERS are the only ones allowed to let you meet the kitty. Not PETSMART employees.


Volunteers are usually at PetSmart between 9 am to 1 pm for cleaning. The cats currently at PETSMART you are allowed to go visit. A good time to come visit is at 4 pm - 9 pm. They are only there in the evening for 3 hours so please call the PetSmart location or visit the cattery for VISITING HOURS. Most days are different 3 hour shifts. It's based on volunteer availability.


The kitties at a foster/rescue homes, we will accommodate as much as possible. But steps 1-6 of the ADOPTION PROCESS need to be done before we do OFFICIAL MEET & GREETS. It is easier to do the meet and greets at the locations listed below.

The crazy rescue mama will drive kitties to their new home, meet & greets, etc...once the adoption interview and home check have been done.. Gas donations always appreciated!

If the CAT/KITTEN is still listed (meaning here or other websites) they are still available. It does not mean they don't have other pending applications or meet and greets.


Please note: Just because you fill out an application and are approved does not obligate you to adopt the cat/kitten. If he or she is not a fit...we have plenty of other cats / kittens available for adoption.


We are a SMALL rescue based out of Hemet, California. We are all volunteers that run the rescue. If we haven't reached out....be patient.

We are NOT a government FUNDED shelter and all our donations and adoption fees are for our rescued cats/kittens. So, we do not do DISCOUNTS.
