Meet Surya AKA Sunny! This petite little girl is just under a year old and has overcome a lot; but is ready to find her forever lap to cuddle on. Sunny was found starving and severely dehydrated several months ago. She has battled diarrhea and infection and had to gain several pounds and muscle mass to get where she is today.
She is very wary of new people but once she gets to know you she will shower you with attention and love. Sunny is her foster’s shadow and loves to sit on laps and sleep on or between her fosters on the bed at night.
She loves to play with the resident cats in her foster home and is good with gentle dogs of all sizes.
Sunny is also good with her foster’s 3yr old, but doesn’t appreciate rough handling.
Her rough beginning in life has potentially left its mark on her though as she is currently eating a veterinary prescription diet to prevent bladder crystals from forming, which cause urinary discomfort and bladder issues. We can’t say whether she will ever be able to come off the specialty food.
She cannot be free fed either as with her history of being starved it makes her unsure whether the next meal is coming and she will try to eat all available food (including human food).
If you have the patience to let her warm up to you and the resources to manage her dietary needs you will be blessed with the sweetest cat her foster has ever known.
