Meet SUNNI

FORT KENT, Maine - PAWS Animal Welfare Shelter presents SUNNI.

Meet Sunni – Meet Sunni. Sunni is a petite, pretty orange tabby that was declawed when she was spayed as a kitten. She is very bright, playful and inquisitive. However, she does sometimes bite people. We do not know if this is due to her being declawed as this sometimes happens when a cat's typical first line of defense has been taken away from him or her or there is another reason. Sunni is three years old. Sunni needs to go to a home with a person that is experienced in understanding cat behavior issues, and it must be a home with no small children or other cats since she prefers to be the only cat. Potential adopters will be screened carefully, as Sunni has been returned to our shelter twice. Although Sunni needs to go to a special home and so that limits her options, we do feel hopeful that there is a match for her out there. Sunni is up-to-date on her vaccinations. Please contact us if you would like to learn more about Sunni, or visit the PAWS Shelter during our Open Hours to meet her. Our Open Hours, which are Tuesdays from 1-3:00 p.m. and Saturdays from 11 a.m.- 1 p.m.

PAWS is a nonprofit organization that rescues abandoned cats in the St. John Valley. Organization members believe most pets can be socialized and prefer not to release them back outdoors, as winters are harsh in Northern Maine. PAWS operates as a no-kill shelter. Their mission is to get owners to spay and/or neuter their animals to help cut down on the population and give all animals a better chance at a quality life. PAWS Animal Welfare, Inc. spays, neuters and vaccinates mature animals before they are placed out for adoption.
