Meet Sumo

This is Sumo and he certainly earned his name. First of all, he is quite large, some would say obese… 20 pounds !!! When he arrived, he was cantankerous and a formidable fighter. Volunteers needed to wrestle with him to clean his cage. Sometimes, it was a beat down by Sumo. However, Sumo had reason to be upset. He was abandoned after his owners moved away. Sumo also had an ouchy tooth and a nasty hair follicle cyst which were causing him pain. Both have been removed and he feels much better. In fact he has transformed into a champion love bug. He enjoys petting so much that if you try to stop, he pulls your arm back with his chubby paw. The volunteers have forgiven him for all the grief he gave us initially.
Sumo is respectful of the other felines. He does not challenge them to a match. There aren’t many in his weight class and he honors that.

Come meet Sumo - it will be a light’s out, take down decision. You’ll be pinned. He will be the main event in your daily routine. Sumo will be crowned Yokozuna !!!

Sumo is 7 years old. There are no known health concerns. Sumo just had a dental. He is neutered, vaccinated, negative for FeLV/ FIV, litter trained and microchipped. He needs to get down to his optimal fighting weight. Movement and portion control will be key. You can be his personal trainer.
